Why Love is Blind
It is often said that love is blind. We fall in love with a person irrespective of his or her looks or background. A person is attracted to another person for various reasons. It could be money, it could be looks or some inherent qualities. The desire to be with another person is there and in many cases one would like to strengthen the bonds by tying the marriage knot.
Falling in love usually is based on emotions rather than logic. Often the emotions are not rationalized. One just falls in love because one is attracted to the other person.
From ancient times, people have been falling in love and most of the time it has been love at first sight. A man comes across a beautiful woman and the moment he sees her he falls in love with her. He decides to make her his wife. There are many folk stories revolving such instances. Sometimes by merely talking with a person for the first time, one may fall in love.
Often people wonder why a person has fallen in love with a particular person as they see nothing “great” in that person. But love is an emotion which an individual experiences by himself or herself.
Why is love blind?
- Love is blind as one usually likes a person irrespective of who he or she is. In other words, one can fall in love with a stranger also.
- Love is not based on rational feelings. You simply like someone. In fact, love at first sight is often experienced as one can fall in love at the very first meeting itself.
- Love is above looks. Even if a person is not all that good looking, one can fall in love with that person. It is more of a charismatic attraction, although it can be physical also.
- There are times one may hate a person when coming across the person, but the moment the person starts conversing he or she may fall in love. In other words, love has no boundaries. It encompasses all kinds of barriers.
- Even a blind person can fall in love merely by feeling the presence of a person, implying love is blind. One can feel it.
Love is am emotion that most people experience it at some point or time. A person falls in love for various reasons, which perhaps may not appear very rational to another person.
